Hello! Thank you for your interest in Chalk and Luxe, I hope you like what you have seen so far! I guess I should say a little bit about me.. I'm Vicky Crewe and I am an interior designer and home stylist who is obsessed with all things homes, interiors and exteriors, architecture and design. I have had a long held passion for interiors, probably since I was a teenager when my parents let me design my bedroom.. I can still remember vividly the excitement I felt as I stood in my newly decorated room with the aroma of fresh paint and that distinctive smell of brand new carpet. I spent hours matching the curtains to the bedding and selecting a wall colour that complemented both. Then whilst at university I persuaded our landlord to let me decorate our student digs, he may not have been so keen if he'd have known I was going for a Majorelle Blue and terracotta lounge and a vivid purple and lime bedroom (in my defence it was the late 90's, the height of Changing Rooms and Lawrence Llwellyn Bowen!).

After finishing university I flew head on in to a 13 year career in buying, a job I loved and which led me to travelling the Far East and India sourcing new products and visiting factories. If I'm honest though I was more inspired by the hotel decor and fascinating architecture around me, so after encouragement from my family I bit the bullet and spent a year studying for a diploma in Interior Design. This qualification gave me the confidence to offer my services to friends and family and from then on I started to get paid work from recommendations, so much so that I had to quit my day job and take on Chalk and Luxe full time. I guess you could say I have never looked back, I genuinely love my job and I get so much pleasure in creating desirable homes for clients, there is nothing more pleasing than clients recommending you to others or coming back to you with new projects.
